If you had to travel from Ghana to Australia, there are many means of transportation you could consider: vehicle, airplane, bicycle, motorbike, and more. However, anyone sitting at a strategy table will ask which of these means will deliver timely and reliable results.
Simply put, your destination determines your strategy. For instance, if I am traveling within Ghana’s capital of Accra, I won’t need to explore trains and planes. It can be done with a motorbike or car.
Once you’ve answered the question “Where am I going?”, you can figure out the strategy to get there. While it may be easier to answer previous questions, determining the right strategy can be challenging. Strategy requires thinking and planning.
I don’t know exactly how you want to get there, but I can share some tips that have worked for me. One way to develop a strategy is to ask: Who has done it before? You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. You can learn from people who have already achieved what you aim to do and follow their path. Read about successful people and their methods.
