Questions of Life: What Can I Do?

This question is deceptively simple but challenging. Even those aware of their potential can feel lost amidst their talents. Abundance creates confusion, but starting with the most passionate and idea-rich dream is key.

This is one of the simplest questions to ask but one of the most difficult to answer. It is not just those who feel lost who ask this question, but also those who recognize the wealth of resources within themselves. The multitude of talents and gifts people possess can lead to confusion about where and when to start.

Consider someone who owns only one dress. With limited options, they easily decide what to wear and move straight into action. In contrast, a person with many dresses might spend hours just deciding what to wear. Abundance can create confusion. However, it is not the abundance itself that causes the confusion but our inability to take decisive action on our choices.

What can you do when faced with problems? What can you do when you have multiple dreams? Where do you start? When do you start? Let’s revisit the dress analogy. People might choose to wear white on Monday to symbolize a fresh start to the week. Similarly, you can begin with the “whitest” of your dreams or talents—the one closest to your heart. Start with the one you have the most ideas about. It might be the toughest, but it’s important to start.
