Terry Mante, a well-known author, consultant, and columnist, recently shared with Inspiring Net how he discovered his passion for writing and turned it into a successful career. Speaking candidly in the interview, Terry recounted how his love for reading and writing from a young age set the foundation for his journey to becoming a published author.
“I realised I was always drawn to reading and writing. Even in school, I found myself excelling more in subjects that required those skills,” Terry explained. His knack for essay-based exams over multiple-choice questions highlighted his strength in expressing ideas through writing. This, he said, was the first clue that writing was more than just a hobby—it was a natural talent.
As he grew older, Terry combined this passion with his deep interest in personal development. He noted, “I loved explaining concepts to people in a way that helped them gain clarity and take action that led to positive change in their lives.” This desire to inspire others became a significant part of his writing, which he now uses to empower people to find success and fulfilment.
Terry’s decision to take writing seriously stemmed from this combination of passions. He shared, “When I put everything together—my love for writing, my passion for personal development, and my ability to inspire others—it became clear to me that writing was the best way to channel these abilities.”
While many assume talent discovery is deliberate, Terry emphasised the importance of paying attention to what naturally captivates you. “Discovering your passion is often about paying attention to the things you are naturally drawn to,” he said, encouraging people to observe what energises them.
Terry has since authored over five books and continues to inspire through his writings in Ghana’s leading business newspaper, The Business & Financial Times. His story serves as a reminder that passion, when nurtured, can evolve into a purposeful and impactful career.
