Introduction
I spent some time in network marketing before deciding to focus on my job. It was a valuable experience that taught me several important lessons that I want to share with you.
Network Marketing business otherwise called Multilevel Marketing, according to Investopedia “is a business model that depends on person-to-person sales by independent representatives, often working from home. A network marketing business may require you to build a network of business partners or salespeople to assist with lead generation and closing sales.”

Here are the lessons I learned from network marketing:
1. Presentation
The foremost lesson I learned from network marketing is the importance of developing presentation and communication skills. To succeed, you need to effectively convey your business idea or concept. Network marketers will talk to anyone, whether they are friends or strangers, to pitch their business proposition. Once they get you to listen, you are likely to sign up. They clearly communicate the benefits of their products and how you can earn more money in less time.
A poorly conceived idea can still succeed with excellent communication, while a great idea can fail if communicated poorly. What you say about your business matters a lot. Network marketing teaches you to enhance your ability to attract people to your business. Learn to speak effectively and market your product well.
2. Selling
The second important lesson I learned from network marketing is the need to sell what you have. While presentation is about speaking and marketing, selling is about closing the deal. You haven’t truly gained a customer until a sale is made. The person you speak with must decide to sign up and pay for the starter pack to begin their part-time business.
Selling is one of the oldest skills. When Satan deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden, he sold her the idea that God was unfair. Decisions, whether good or bad, are made when a sale is completed. Network marketing sharpens your selling skills and helps you win people over to your ideas.
3. Leadership
In network marketing, the person who signs you up becomes your leader. They are responsible for guiding you to success, drawing from their own experiences of losses and wins. Ignoring your leader will hinder your progress in the business. They will teach you what to do and what to avoid.
In every profession, there are leaders who have paved the way. Be humble and learn from them in your chosen field. Beyond your direct leader, there are many experienced leaders from other businesses you can learn from. Don’t limit yourself; learn from those who have succeeded.
4. Mentoring
Another valuable lesson from network marketing is the importance of mentorship. Having a leader does not guarantee that you are a good mentee. To succeed, you must be willing to learn and apply what you are taught. If you learn from the best and apply their lessons, you can achieve similar or even greater results.
A mentor is someone who has gone ahead of you and is willing to share their life lessons. Everyone should have at least one mentor to help them live effectively. Moses had Jethro, who taught him about administration and shared responsibility. Without mentors, your progress will be limited by your own knowledge.
5. Business
The final lesson I learned from network marketing is how to run a personal business. Even if you treat it as a part-time opportunity, you must approach it with the professionalism of a full-time business to succeed.
Consider everything you do as your own business. Jesus said to His parents that He must be about His Father’s business, demonstrating his zeal and commitment. Treat your work with the seriousness it deserves, or risk earning less than your potential.
Conclusion
Network marketing is a great opportunity for people to explore side hustles that can eventually become their main work. It teaches valuable lessons about living effectively to achieve your life and business goals.
