Closing the financial leadership segment of The Next Great Leader Summit 3.0, hosted by Bishop Gideon Titi-Ofei, Dr. Mensa Otabil shared practical lessons on earning, managing, and growing wealth.
According to him, wealth creation begins with solving problems and providing value to others.
“To make money, you have to offer something of value,” he explained. “The more valuable the thing you offer, the higher the compensation.”
Dr. Otabil noted that many people focus on earning money but neglect the equally important responsibility of managing it wisely. He warned against a culture of excessive consumption and encouraged individuals to build assets rather than liabilities.
“People are buying things of no value to them,” he observed. “You’re either buying liability with your money or acquiring asset with your money.”
Using humorous stories from his early working years, he illustrated how poor financial decisions can create a cycle of scarcity. He urged young professionals to develop habits of saving, investing, and asset acquisition while maintaining their primary sources of income.
His practical insights provided attendees with a roadmap for building sustainable financial success.
